So, why should I visit Australia?
A large number of travellers to Australia end up living in the country at a later date - quoting the relaxed way of life, great surfing opportunities and beautiful landscape as just some of the many reasons they've fallen in love with Australia.

So, you've sold Australia to me. Where should I visit?
We've come up with our top 5 places to visit in Australia - and it was a major struggle to limit the list to just five choices!

  • Sydney - New South Wales. Sydney pretty much hits every 'top X places to live in the world' list due to it's iconic harbour which hosts the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, as well as being surrounding by national parks and nature reserves.

  • Uluru - Northern Territory. Uluru, better known as Ayers Rock, is located in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Many people choose to take a helicoptor ride to view Uluru as climbing the rock is discouraged as it is a scared monument for the Aboriginies.

  • The Great Barrier Reef - Queensland. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral formation anywhere in the world and is home to an incredible array of marine life. It offers fantastic diving opportunities or the opportunity to travel out and view the reef in a glass bottomed boat.

  • Kakadu National Park - Northern Territory. This national park has a fantastic array of flora and fauna and is subject to as many as six different seasons in a year! Here, you can find kangaroos, wallabys, bandicoots, dingos, goshawks, crocodiles and snakes, amongst a range of other wildlife.

  • Cairns - Queensland. Quite simply, if you are backpacking in Australia, make sure you visit Cairns. Apart from being a great access point to the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, Cairns is great for nightlife, adventure sports and is one of the most informal cities you are likely to visit in your lifetime. Want to wear swimwear and sandals for the majority of your visit? No problem.
